Connected or Disconnected?

With the development of technology, people are literally connected all over the world. We don't need a day to wait for the newspaper got printed to know what happened in the other part of the world, but just a few seconds with simple "clicks" with your finger.

In the past, people needs days or even months to send and receive letters from their friends or families to know what's happening when they are away. But now, it don't even takes you a minute to type a whatsapp message or update your status on Facebook. Technology shorten our communication time gap but does it really make people actually connected and shorten the distance in between?

Maybe but also may not be! There are a lot of people talking about this, like Agrawal, the blogger, wrote about how technology changes human relationships. Actually he is quite positive about this.

For me, i do agree technology connects people that we might not know. Wikipedia connects people with the same interests or scholars with the same field to gather to write the best post. How about your friends? The people you are actually known them for a while like your ex-schoolmates, ex-colleagues that you used to talk to them face-to-face? These people mostly are now just my friends on Facebook but not actually friends. We only "communicate" when Facebook notifies my whenever it's his's or her's birthday today. Sometimes I feel really sad about this. Technology is actually creating the social distance between people.

Please just treasure those friends still meet you up for dinner, for a movie or whatever. Cause they are actually real friends but not only "technologically friends".

Hey, lets meet up!
